Howdy, folks. How’s it going? Good? Good.
September blew by pretty quickly, huh? Fine by me. Now that it’s finally October and the fall season is in full swing, it ’s time to get spooky! Over the past few years, October has become my favorite time of the year, and for good reason. New York Comic-Con. Halloween. A fully month of spooky energy. What’s not to love? And this coming October is going to be one for the record books.
But I’ll chatter all about that come the end of the month/the start of November. For now, let’s recap September. Which actually won’t take that long, since it was a pretty straightforward month, all things considered.
Perhaps the most important event of the month for me was finally finishing the second draft of my story, “Soul Survivor.” A few of you reading this might have actually been asked to help me out with giving it a readthrough so I can do one more round of edits and finish it for good. Soon enough, I expect to start submitting it to literary magazines and hopefully get it out and the world at long last. In addition, I’m also hard at work on “Vial,” the latest Blood Sisters short story, which I’m aiming to have finished by the end of the year. If I miss that mark, though, it shouldn’t be too long into the new year for me to have it ready for you all to read.
Side events of the month included me seeing MCR a second time, because why not, and finally getting to see The Book of Mormon on Broadway. The former was just about as great as the first time, and the latter was everything I could have hoped for. Outside of that, I’ve also been taking care of some medical stuff. Nothing dangerous to worry about, just a handful of small issues regarding my gut and hip that have been hampering my overall quality of life for a while now. Figured it was about time to address it all. So far, everything seems to be okay with me, but it’s an ongoing investigation. Pray for me.
Other than that, September was, again, straightforward. Not bad, not great. Perfectly alright. I really spent a lot of the month hyping up October, because there’s a lot of fun stuff to look forward to. The first two days of the month alone included going to the Renaissance Fair and attending a concert where I got to see Currents (again) and Kingdom of Giants (finally), so we’re already off to a great start. This coming weekend holds New York Comic-Con in store, and you can be sure I’ll be posting another update in the aftermath.
For now, though, I hope September treated you all well, and I hope you’re all as excited as I am for October. Let’s get spooky!
